Hedzole

A casual contemporary dining experience inspired by West African cuisine and Ghanaian-American heritage.

Candice Mensah is a Ghanaian-American that was born in Washington, DC and raised in the Fairfax County Mount Vernon community. From an early age she was curious about food and how to make it taste good. Candice was inspired to start Hedzole to share her love of the food she grew up eating and learning to cook.

The Hedzole experience, like its chef and founder, is intentionally and authentically Ghanaian-American to welcome guests familiar with traditional West African food in a new way. For the unfamiliar, Hedzole is an introduction to the flavors and culture for many Americans who also call the African continent home.
